John Mayer, Austin City Limits full concert, 2007. Probably one of the most note perfect performances he’ll ever do. Such a treat to watch. And thanks to Mimi (@mimimph) for alerting me to this great, great show.

Yay! Tumblr at a PC once again.

JM FAMILY, HERE IT IS:

sendingjohnourlove:

The international Get Well Soon, John Mayer Video Project!

This means a lot in so many levels because it shows how big and supportive the John Mayer Family is. The Sending John our Love and the Get Well Soon John Mayer projects reached hundreds of people throughout the world and we were united by one single wish: TO MAKE JOHN FEEL ALL THE LOVE INSPIRES IN US and how much we wish him to recover, keep strong and positive. And as the video says, that OUR LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL.

Thanks and Congratulations to Jil, Mariana and Belinda for their beautiful and hard work on the making of this video.

HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AS WELL.

I wish I knew what it was about this performance that makes me so damn giddy. The two artists, the song - all of it just comes together in this perfect storm and I literally get the quakes. Every time it pops up on my iPod shuffle - I wind up listening to it something 15 times straight. It was played during my entire ride home today.

Keith Urban & John Mayer - Til Summer Comes Around

The quakes LOL! Starts out super mellow but they cut to the chase pretty quickly in this version. Still not sure if this was intended for the encore at Tiger Jam and the reason for questioning is that No Such Thing was supposed to be included during John’s set but then we didn’t here it perhaps to leave time for the double punch at the end. Speculating but either way, quakes absolutely!

So is this Rosie before John had her tattooed? If yes then she also made an appearance in Something Like Olivia and Til Summer Comes Around. For those keeping track, John used a different guitar at The Gorge [on the latter].

Happy Holidays JM FAM. Thanks for making Tumblr such a fun place to connect over our shared obsession interest.

p.s. This is the song I’ve listened to the most in 2011!

We have a bit of a bias towards this song. Maybe something to do with where we live. SO MUCH LOVE for it though. Please bring it back John?

How can a man look so %$#@ fine in dress slacks and jeans. Mmmm mmmm.

And need I mention the left foot action? And guitar. *sigh*

Wheels up
I got to leave this evening
Can’t seem to shake these vultures
Off of my trail
Power is made, by pure manipulation
So I keep on running
To protect my situation

“by pure manipulation”

I think I like this version best, at least today.

And John, nothing is sexier than your fingers on that guitar.

This is my theme song today. One way or the other, I will shake these vultures and manipulators.

this deserves a reblog

When that last photo from Crossroads Guitar Fest surfaced, I looked at a couple of the videos again and noticed more so in Ain’t No Sunshine because of the camera angles that Steve Jordan faces either stage left or to the back. Noting questions in case the time ever comes to ask again but why that set up. It’s most obvious around 20 seconds into the video. There we go. Maybe if we have questions tagging them “askjm” they will be answered on John time. Not quite sure what that is yet but presume it has little to do with what we see on a clock.

Ya’ll remember John saying that his dad wrote Don’t Stop Believing, right?

Cesilie’s Christmas Calendar Day 17 ~

I had to post this one, haha. It’s just too hilarious. I can’t even.

‘So get out there and give today a tongue bath. Because you’re good, and you’re gonna be even better, as soon as you get your urethra narrowed. Call the doctor.’

Oh God, I was just thinking about this last night!

How many times did young John completely baffle the rents?

justasillylittlemoment:

Because this performance, this intro and this song never gets old. Because sometimes there is nothing better than laying in the dark listening to Edge of Desire. (also because, Mr. Mayer, in a white v-neck, you are a life ruiner.)

“But I’m gonna go against the grain and I’m gonna suggest that the next time you get a text from the one you love, the only person in the world you love and can’t talk to, that you respond, that you just write back. When they ask you if you’re up and you’re up just write back - yup come over. ‘Cause life is just too short to keep playing the game.”

John Mayer - Edge of Desire - Live @ The Hollywood Bowl - 8.22.10

Who thinks this is in Cesilie’s top 25?

jackiechanel:

I needed this today.

“Everybody’s life has lines in it…chapter marks. Everybody’s life has chapter marks. Some people’s chapter marks in their life…some of them are really good.  Some of them remind you of a time when everything went really well or some of them remind you of a time when it didn’t go well or maybe it didn’t go well at first and then changed you and things went even better than they were before.  And there was a line in my life when I was 19 years old when I said to my guitar, almost literally “you know better than me. And therefore, I’m going to follow you wherever you take me” and I’m going to trust this guitar.  And I’m gonna trust this guitar.  I’m gonna trust this guitar.

And if that takes me to sleeping on a pool table, or if that takes me into a bout of loneliness I never saw coming…well, I’m gonna still do that because I think I have a calling.  And I know…and I know… and I know …that I traded certain things as a human being, I know that I did.  there are certain parts of my brain that will never be the same, certain parts of my brain that are now converted to being able to do things on this level, that are at the expense of being able to do things on a somewhat of a more docile human level.

But I know…but I know…that is the very making of a calling! Callings are not perfect.  When you have a calling, you have to give a lot up to follow the calling.  That’s why it’s called a calling…BECAUSE THE SOUND COMES FROM FAR AWAY!

And you have to follow the sound of your calling. And it’s one of the hardest things in the world to do.  It’s the reason the world is full of really talented people who didn’t go try it, and that’s okay. But to the people who hear the ringing of the bell of the calling…that sound that they have to follow, you will have to give up certain parts of your life.  And yes, I have given up certain parts of my life to follow this sound and I have found a beautiful thing in it.

On a night like tonight, I need to thank you, for making this journey feel so unbelievable and so unbelievably worth the trip and the getting lost and the found and the lost and the found on the way to figuring out what my true calling is.  I would never ever ever ever trade this back again for the rest of my life.  I love this all, thanks to you.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you”
