‘The lyric idea for In Repair came from this kind of knowledge about the way people are, that we’re always either on the way down or the way up. You never really enjoy the moment when it’s all put together, ‘cause it probably never really is. Those moments where things come apart is only setting you up for that moment where you put it back together again, and you’re so surprised that it’s coming back together again. There’s this beauty in the idea of being in repair. ‘

It is 18min+ so quite a long video but definitely worth watching! Enjoy :))
IN REPAIR ~ Austin City Limits
John Mayer
This is so awesome. P.S. This place is RETARDED EXPENSIVE to record at. THE BEST have laid down tracks there (i.e. Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Springsteen, U2, Timbaland) Seriously. Everyone. So cool he was ballsy enough to go in there with NOTHING WRITTEN on his own dime. SO much respect. That would scare the hell out of me.
Maybe the question should be which venue John sounds the best. SPAC absolutely. 2006 & 2008 are by far two of the best recordings out there. These shows are great start to finish with multiple live performance favorites including Covered In Rain and In Repair. John always seems to find a good vibe in Texas as well. Cynthia Woods Pavilion 2008 is the most downloaded on Archive. Choosing an outstanding song from the show is pretty easy though. Mercy is hands down the hottest.
